We caught up with our apprentice accounts assistant, George.

When did you start working here?

On the 6th of June 2022.

What does a day at work look like to you?

Firstly I check my emails and respond to any queries and save any remittances that may have been sent our way. Then I start on the cash sheet, allocating all the payments we receive on the day, and then I organise the current account and all the payments we have to send. When I’ve finished all of that, I run a report and email all of our customers a copy of their invoice. If I have time afterward I’ll get on with chasing customers for payment on overdue invoices.

What three words would you use to describe your role?

Challenging, rewarding, and entertaining.

What did you do before working here?

Before EntrySign, I worked at McDonald’s whilst studying bookkeeping and accounting at college.

What is your favourite thing about working here?

It’s improving my knowledge of accounting and helping me achieve my qualification!

How do you wind down after work?

Normally I eat dinner when I get home and then go on my PC and play video games with my friends.

Do you have a favourite film? If so, what is it and why?

I would have to go with Hacksaw Ridge as my favourite film. I think both the acting and the plot are amazing.

Tell us one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?

I’m really into fashion. I love going to vintage shops with my friends as we all have the same sort of style.

Finally, what is your guilty pleasure?

I would have to go with watching The Office. I must have watched it four times all the way through and I never get bored of it!
