Meet Tom, one of our company directors.

When did you start working here?

I started here as a young man way back in May 2005. I’ve certainly seen a lot of changes here over the years as the company has grown and evolved.

What is your role here?

I’m one of the company directors. I’m responsible for our sales team but ultimately, I’m part of the team of directors who are here to support everyone in the business to succeed in their roles. Or with whatever they may need actually, which usually presents fresh new challenges each day.

Generally, first thing I’ll have emails to address or meetings to prepare for. I try to catch up with our sales teams to make sure they have everything they need. I usually have a lot of meetings with people from our partners and our strategic partners. That might be team members who need help and information or management to discuss strategy, processes, training programmes and sales support documentation.

What did you do before working here?

I was a Technical Support Engineer at a secondary school.

What is your favourite thing about working here?

Trade shows. Just kidding, tough questions these. My favourite thing about working here, well I’ve worked here for over 17 years and it’s rewarding to think of where we are now. Especially with products like EntrySign becoming a well-respected, internationally recognised product and brand and to think that it’s all developed, sold, supported and contributed to by everyone in-house, where we began in Barnsley. I think that’s pretty cool.

How do you wind down after work?

I walk my dog, I like to play golf, I like eating out at restaurants. The usual stuff.

Do you have a favourite film?

There’s a few. Classics like Goodfellas or Reservoir Dogs but I’d probably go Pulp Fiction. And The Greatest Show Man. I don’t need to say why for the Greatest Show Man do I, that’s self-explanatory isn’t it?

What’s a skill you would like to improve upon?

Probably Spanish.

Finally, what has been your biggest achievement?

This is a really difficult question. I’ve been here a long time and I would like to think I’ve had quite a few achievements over all that time.

Probably EntrySign. The success of EntrySign is something that we can all consider a big achievement. I remember when the idea was first born, it wasn’t EntrySign back then, not as you know it now. It was just a digital visitor book with a staff in/out board on it that was to modernise the reception area in the old building when we first moved in.

That and to improve our health and safety procedures which I was responsible for at the time. I think we called it EasySign at first.

We aim to provide the very best products and service for our customers. Please get in touch if you have any questions, comments, or would like to know more about our product range.
